One Family Law is an Edmonton family firm that helps separating couples reach a flat-fee separation agreement through one shared, neutral lawyer.

Founder Melissa Bourgeois created what the firm calls the One Lawyer Divorce Method, in which a single lawyer advises both spouses instead of each hiring opposing counsel. The model followed a two-year regulatory process and an 18-month pilot. A seven-step process takes most clients from first meeting to signed agreement in six to eight weeks, and the firm also handles uncontested divorce in Alberta.
